(R Visas) RELIGIOUS WORKER VISAS
Foreign nationals who have worked in a religious capacity for at least two years immediately prior to the application in a religious capacity for a bona fide religious organization may apply for this visa type. 
Religious workers are divided into three subcategorize which include:

• Aliens who will work as ministers
• Aliens who will work for a religious organization in a professional capacity in a religious vocation or occupation
• Aliens who will be working for a bonafide religious organization in a religious vocation or occupation.

In essence the religious worker category covers religious counselors, cantors, catechists, missionaries, religious translators, religious broadcasters, nuns, and monks.
